Half-and-half

Milk and cream in equal parts, 10.5 to 18% milk fat. It pours thin, it will not whip, and it will not float.

Called half cream in Britain, where it is rarely sold. It is the lightest thing a recipe can mean by cream, and some bartenders pour it in a Ramos Gin Fizz for exactly that reason.
