Applejack
American apple brandy, distilled in New Jersey since the 18th century from eating apples rather than the cider apples of Normandy. Rougher and hotter than Calvados, closer to a whiskey than to a brandy. Bottled in bond it is all apple at 50%; the cheaper blend is a third apple brandy and the rest neutral spirit.
