The Pithy Bar

Nick & Nora glass

A small stemmed glass with a gently tapered bowl, holding around 15 cl. Next to a coupe it is taller, narrower and a good deal smaller.

That shape is the whole point. The narrow mouth spills far less when you carry a full glass across a room, and it keeps the aromatics gathered over the surface instead of letting them off across a wide open bowl. Reach for it for stirred, spirit-forward drinks served up - Martinis, Manhattans, anything that has to stay cold to the last sip.

It takes its name from Nick and Nora Charles, the endlessly drinking couple in The Thin Man, and came back into production in the 2000s after decades out of use.
