The Pithy Bar

Crushed ice

Crushed or pebble ice, packed into the glass and often heaped above the rim. It melts fast and lets the drink down hard, so a drink built for it - a julep, a swizzle, a tiki drink - is poured strong and sweet to meet that.

Also every blended drink: its ice came out of the blender rather than going into the glass first, but what is served is a glass of crushed ice all the same.
